I just love this foil detail! It's so rare to see foil stamping within the pages of a book, but this special treatment is given to every title in Nicola Killen's sweet My Little Animal Friend picture book series (check out my interview with her about The Little Kitten here). Every book gets a different color, so it's fitting for an orange tiger to get blue foil (love that nod to complementary colors!).

Let's Talk Illustrators #277: Tang Wei
I recently had the absolute pleasure of talking to seasoned illustrator and debut author Tang Wei about Grandma's Roof Garden, translated by Kelly Zhang. This book is special for so many reasons––I think it's particularly worth noting that the text is told in rhyming couplets and quatrains reminiscent of Chinese nursery rhymes and folk chants––but the most important reason is how special it was for Tang to create. Enjoy our chat!

Let's Talk Illustrators #275: David Dolenský
We're back with our first interview of the year, a conversation with Czech tattoo artist, graphic designer, and illustrator of Tibbles the Cat David Dolenský. Written by Michal Šanda, Tibbles the Cat is a story as unique and fascinating as its illustrator, and I hope you enjoy a peek behind the curtain when it comes to how David created the illustrations. Happy New Year!
