Let's Talk Illustrators #198: Mercè López
I Am Smoke by Henry Herz and Mercè López is a jaw-dropping look at smoke, all told from smoke's point of view. The illustrations are absolutely captivating, especially when paired with Henry's text, and I was so excited to talk to illustrator Mercè about how she created them! As one might suspect, there's a lot of actual smoke involved. Enjoy!

Let's Talk Illustrators #197: Laura Vaccaro Seeger
I feel so lucky that I caught up with author-illustrator Laura Vaccaro Seeger to talk about her illustration and story process for Red. Red is the much-anticipated (but totally unexpected!) follow up to Green (2012) and Blue (2018) which both explore emotions through their respective color. Red tackles more fiery emotions, like anger and passion, and it was an honor talking to Laura about this book. Enjoy our conversation!

Let's Talk Illustrators #196: Samantha Cotterill
I was so lucky to get a chance to chat with one of the most versatile illustrators I've ever met, Samantha Cotterill! If you take a look at Samantha's body of work, it's clear she works hard to create a unique illustration experience based on the tone of the text she's illustrating, and Thankful was created in her incredible diorama style (one of my favorites!). Samantha let me pick her brain, and our chat is below--enjoy!
